Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks on opposite ends of the spectrum
Distance isn't the only parameter separating these two teams. The Seahawks have a prolific defense and the Lions, a prolific offense. Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford bolster a Lions team that is having a disappointing season, sitting at 2-4 and last place in the NFC North. The Seahawks defense is equipped with two of the rowdiest cornerbacks in the league, Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner. Expected is a low scoring game or a complete and utter blowout with one of these sides with a huge game.
Seattle Seahawks, especially Brandon Browner, must be sure to aggressively contain Megatron.
WR/CB matchup of the season, Brandon Browner vs. Calvin Johnson, will surely be a discussed topic before and after NFL
Sunday. As UFC announcer Bruce Buffer would say.. It's
TIME! In one corner we have a former
CFL All-Star and current NFL All Pro, standing at 6'4" and weighing in at
220 lbs., Brandon Browner! Reigning from the Motor City and current NFL 1st
team and All Pro wideout, standing 6'5" and weighing in at 236 lbs.,
Calvin "Megatron" Johnson!
Sidney Rice will land with big noise in the city of Detroit
Rice has stepped up to solidify himself as the top wideout in Seattle. A deep threat and imposing frame, the Seahawks number one has been a safety blanket for Wilson when the rookie feels pressure and need to heave the ball down the field. Though the numbers aren't big, 312 yards and two TDs, Rice is the most complete wideout that the Seahawks possess. I am expecting the numbers in this game to be improved, guesstimating at six catches for 125 yards and one TD.
Questions to be answered against Lions...
How will jet lag affect the Seahawks? In other words, can the Seahawks improve their 1-3 road record?
Matthew Stafford can throw, but runs like he's wearing ankle weights. Russell Wilson has a 4.5 40 yard dash, but isn't near the passer that Stafford is. Which weakness and/or strength will play the largest role in this game?
